Salvation in the Bible is God’s sovereign act of delivering sinners from the penalty, power, and ultimate presence of sin through the finished work of Jesus Christ. All humanity stands guilty before a holy God because of sin, and no one can be justified by works or moral effort. Salvation is necessary because the wages of sin is death and eternal separation from his grace and mercy. Through Christ’s substitutionary death and bodily resurrection, God provides forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life to those who repent and believe. Salvation restores fellowship with God, secures eternal destiny, and displays God’s justice, mercy, and grace according to His Word.
